God loves you

God wants us to understand first and foremost that we are valuable in HIS eyes and He holds us in the palm of His hand. Nothing we can do or have done will ever separate us from His love. Romans 8: 38-39 He knows all and still loves us with an unconditional love some of us have never known before.  Isaiah 46:4. Sometimes life makes us hard because of the struggles we have faced in our childhood, our marriage or just in everyday life walking in society. Society in general is hard. Life is hard at times. Maybe you feel like you have been repeatedly kicked in the stomach and now you are just ready to give up. Maybe you feel like no one cares and certainly no one loves you.

Well, I am here to tell you that you are wrong. God loves you more than you can ever think or imagine. He took pleasure in creating each one of His children and if you are HIS, then you can never lose His love. He may not like the sin you are committing, but He loves us in a way that our human parents, siblings and grandparents may not have been able to understand. Often, as children we are taught that by conforming to a set of rules and guidelines, and then we will be “loved”, when in reality this is totally backwards. We should be loved by our human family and friends just for being ourselves. I know in my own life, that has been something I have struggled with all of my life; from as young as 3 years old. I just recently had a birthday where I turned 47 years old, so for basically 44 years I have been trying to figure out why I wasn’t loved just for being “Angie”. Maybe you are in the same situation.

I want to offer you some hope and words of healing. First, remember no matter what happened to you, whether it was abuse of any form, lack of emotional support or words of love, encouragement and affirmation; none of those were not offered to you because of something you did wrong or because you were not good enough. This is “their” problem and now it is time to decide if you want to continue to beat yourself up and believe the lies that have been told to you or about you or if you are going to choose a different path.

I know in my own life, that decision did not come easy because I was so accustomed to the dysfunction in my own extended family and I also believed all the lies, condemnation and abuse that was spewed my way. I know someone reading this today can totally relate. I want to offer you hope.

You deserve more. You are beautiful and loved in God’s eyes. You are more valuable than rubies or diamonds to HIM. He designed you before you were in your mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13-14. God set us in the families we have, which is not something we can change, but we do have the opportunity to reject the abuse, dysfunction and lies. We must step out of our past and into the future God has for us. He ordained a plan and purpose for each of our lives. It is our job to find out that plan and purpose and work toward making it a reality.

Our past does not dictate our future. Our future is full of promise, power and purpose. We have to believe we are worthy enough to ask for ALL GOD HAS for our lives. We deserve the best because each one of us is made in the image of GOD. We lack nothing. We can achieve anything we set our minds to accomplish because all that is good, worthy and lovable is inside each one of us because God has equipped us with everything we need.  Hebrews 13:21. Stand out for God but in the same way ask for better in your own life if things are not going the way you want. This is the one and only life you have. Why waste it being unhappy, anxious and full of doubts about yourself?

God loves you and wants the best for you. Believe you deserve the best because God certainly believes you are the best and deserve the best.

Lord, today I ask that you give each person reading this article a deep hunger to know you on a more intimate level. I ask that you equip each person to realize their own value in YOUR eyes but also in their own hearts. Help each person to understand that you are in control and nothing that happens to them goes unnoticed by you. You are there through each hurt, trial and struggle, all the while holding their hand. Help us to continue to seek Your face, Lord. We want to know you better and to have a more fulfilling life by living the way you have called us to live. Give us the strength to accept your love and acceptance, even when we feel unworthy. Help us to know our value is greater than all the wealth in the world. You gave Your only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for each of us. Help us to offer grace, hope and mercy to others, just as you have offered it to us. Thank You, Lord for all you do for each one of us.
