Shake off the Dust

DUST

Shake Off the Dust

Luke 10:10-11

But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, “Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.”

Have you ever been in a place or with someone where you knew you were not welcome or wanted?

I have felt that more times than I care to admit and often I have no clue as to why I am unwelcome.

Yet, it happens.

The saddest place to feel unwelcomed is in the church, yet it happens there as well.

We live in a world that is full of judgment; which happens within places of employment, friendships, families as well as the church body.

Unwelcomed
Unwanted
Unappreciated
Unloved

Yet, God calls me to stand strong and stand faithful in the places He has called me to walk in this life.

It may be hard.
It may be painful at times.
It may be lonely.
It may be stressful.

But in the end; God is in control of the church I attend, the job I have and the people I work with as well as the friendships I have. It is in His hands when and where I walk and how the people interact with. They may or may not accept me, but GOD accepts me.

He wants me.
He loves me.
He appreciates me.
He welcomes me into HIS kingdom.

Thankfully, the places where I feel unwelcome and unwanted are only temporary. They don’t effect the final outcome of God’s plan on my life.

My life is not controlled by other’s opinions of me or my life. God has the final say in my life.

I want to be liked and wanted as well as welcomed by everyone, but that is not the reality of this world.

We live in a world that is not very nice at times but that does not mean we are to sink to the world’s level and be unkind.

Today, I want you to remember that YOU are loved by a God who sent HIS Son to die on the cross. Pain is part of life, but stay strong and continue to hold your head high even in the unwelcoming world we often live within.

Lord, help us to remember today that You have our lives planned out from the time of our conception. Nothing we face surprises You are the author and finisher of all that happens; good and bad. Help us to remember that we may face trying situations where we feel unloved, unwanted and unwelcome but through it all we are to continue to show the power of God and love everyone; especially those that are hard to love.

Be kind. Smile. Do your best and wait for God’s due reward.

Have an awesome day in the Lord. He loves YOU…

  1. Truth. Where we want the most love, we don’t always get it. Yet we know not every church is perfect, and each one will be judged when face to face with the king.
